Hospitality Developmen
Architecture & Renovation The house was gutted to the studs and rebuilt entirely with new structure, systems, layout, and finishes. Not a single element of the original home was left untouched. The scope included managing the architect and general contractor, as well as hands on demolition. The floor plan was redesigned, the upper level was lofted, and the home was converted to a single bedroom. This was an intentional decision, designed around a specific guest profile: couples from New York City seeking a high end weekend escape in the Catskills.
Interiors & Sourcing All interiors, materials, furniture, and art were sourced and specified for the project, including pieces from independent artists and designers as well as vintage sourced from auction houses and local antique shops. The design is a deliberate departure from the rustic, country aesthetic common across Catskills properties. The intention was a space with a distinct and specific point of view.
Brand Identity The creative direction draws from classical portraiture, Hudson River School landscape painting, the history of the Catskills, and the history of women in art. The name comes from Jane Doe, the woman whose name you don't know. A brand designer was brought on to develop the logotype, monogram, color system, print collateral, website, and social presence from that brief.
